My Most Favourite Albums of the Year In No Particular Order
I’m not going to you which are the best albums of the year, because everyone and their dog thinks they know that. Instead I will tell you my favourite albums, which you can’t argue with and therefore are right, so they actually are the best albums of the year.
Mastodon - Crack the Skye: Pretty much perfect.
Muse - The Resistance: Beautiful, with the bellamy style oddness that makes muse what they are.
Architects - Hollow Crown: Been waiting 11 months to put this on a end of year list. Band really hitting their stride and finding a perfect balance to thier sound.
Between the Buried and Me - The Great Misdirect: EPIC, brilliant album that cements btbam’s status as one of the best prog metal bands around. Doesn’t quite follow on from colours as colours did from alaska, but what could?
Coalesce - OX: Old school metalcore at its best, not released an album for 10 years, sounds like they have been working on this since then to get it just right.
Converge - Axe to Fall: Best since Jane Doe, band does what they do best, mix metal and hardcore, guests then add soemthing extra.
Behemoth - Evangelion: ‘First album I am 100% satisfied with’ says Nergal, if he is happy then who in the name of all that is metal am I to disagree.
Been some other good albums this year but none stand out to me as much as these ones do.
Feel free to disagree with me, after all that is what opinions are for.
